One of the main goals of Pre-junior Barnaby programme is not just introduce kids to English language, but also make process of primary socialization comfortable and interesting.
Why and what for
Introduction to English language is not a goal of the project, but a result of our education programme. We start with play – an essential need of a child and an important means through which children learn. Different activities, that kids participate in – music, art, development – are designed specifically for our project and adapted with interest and abilities of our young participants.
In the game process our young participants develop motor skills, musical and creative abilities, logic. Children extend their knowledge of the wortd and learn to express their emotions. There are also music and art elements involved in the class.
Props for classes
Education materials that we use at class are different toys and games, dolls and puppets, various materials (cloth, sand, ice, water), models of animals, plants, body parts and vehicles. A large part of the props are hand-made by our teachers and assistants specially for this project
Introduction to English
Teacher and assistant communicate with children in English. Presence of the Mother tongue remains due to parents, who communicate with their child in native language.
The main priority for us is emotional comfort of the children. We don’t separate kids from their parents for duration of classes. Thus, children feel safe, which lets them acquire the necessary skills and abilities for their age. We also suggest supplementing activities that you can practice at home.
We invite children aged 9 months to 2,5 years in groups of 4 to 8 students. Each group is assigned with a teacher and an assistant. Classes take place once a week.
A child has his own day schedule, so we try our best to accomodate to those, so our classes will not be in the way of basic needs such as food and sleep. Precise time for the lessons is set for each group according to kids’ schedule
Every class is a series of games on specific topics, that change every 7-10 minutes and involve using different parts of brain, so that children don’t exhaust themselves and keep on playing with excitement and interest.
Duration of classes is 90 minutes, including 15 minute free-play time at the beginning of the lesson and 15 minute lunch break.
